Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen

Here you can enjoy nature, peace and space, and there is no reason to strictly stick to the paths. In other words, you can literally stroll through nature, as you please. Unfortunately you are not allowed to cycle through the area. This varied landscape is home to a unique collection of flora and fauna. There are also different animal species ranging from rodents like rabbits through to the marten family. Since 1980, foxes have successfully entered the area, and with more than 100 different varieties, birds are also well represented. The old bunkers from World War Two today offer homes to bats and there are also larger species in the area with hundreds of red deer and fallow deer. In the autumn you can hear the bucks belling. This is the magnificent sound the males make to attract female partners. And the result is plenty of young deer in the spring! Would you like a tour with a guide through the area or a bunker tour?
