Question:
What is the best way to get to Amsterdam?
Answer:
The easiest way is by train. It leaves twice per hour, in summer as many as four times. Alternatively, you can go by bus. Bus 80 will take you to Amsterdam Marnixstraat in around 50 minutes. And of course you can go by car, but do take into account the difficulties finding a parking space and the high rates.

Where can I park my car?
Answer:
You can park your car close to the beach: along the boulevard, on parking Zuid and in parking garage LDC in the town center. Sign will guide you to the parking locations. At the locations, you will find machines where you can buy a ticket.

Question:
Where can I take my dog onto the beach?
Answer:
From October 1st to April 15th dogs are welcome all day on the Zandvoort beach. From April 15th to  October 1st dogs are only allowed on the beach before 9 AM and after 7 PM. If you want to take your dog to the beach between 9 AM and 7 PM, you are welcome on the beach at Parnassia in Bloemendaal aan Zee.

At what time do the shops close?
Answer:
The shops in Zandvoort aan Zee are open 7 days a week. In the weekend till as late as 10 PM.

Question:
What can I do in Zandvoort aan Zee, besides going to the beach?
Answer:
Zandvoort aan Zee is so much more than just the beach. The village has a lively center full of old, narrow streets (the ‘sloppies’) and a large number of bars and restaurants. There are three casino’s, an arcade, a cinema, a subtropical swimming pool, a bowling alley and miniature golf, both inside and out. Furthermore, besides fantastic bike and walking routes, you can book an enormous amount of excursions and (beach) activities. Tell us your wishes and we’ll tell you where to find it.

Can I light a BBQ on the beach?
Answer:
On the Zandvoort South beach, private individuals are allowed to light a BBQ. An area on this beach has been set aside especially for BBQs.

I am in a wheelchair. How can I get to the sea?
Answer:
Zandvoort aan Zee has four locations where you can borrow a beach wheelchair: Beachclub No. 5, Strand-Noord, Beach club Jeroen and the First Aid Station.

Question:
The weather is not very nice. What can I do inside?
Answer:
You can visit the Jutters Mu-ZEE-um. It is open all week during school holidays. Outside of the holidays, it is open on Wednesdays and on the weekends. The Zandvoort Museum is open from Wednesday through Sunday, from 1 AM to 5 PM. You can also go to Circus Zandvoort to play games or see a good movie, or go to Center Parcs Park Zandvoort to swim in Aqua Mundo, and for indoor miniature golf or bowling. And of course you can have a flutter in the Holland Casino.

Answer:
On the Zaanse Schans, in De Schermer, around Haarlem or in Kinderdijk.

Question:
Are there any organized walks?
Answer:
From March through September, every Thursday morning at 10.30, we organize a guided walk through the natural reserve the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, led by an experienced guide. This walk lasts about an hour and a half and the fee is € 6.50 for adults and € 5.- for children up to 8 years. The tour can be in German, English or French, if you want. We also sell several guided walks through the town of Zandvoort aan Zee.

Zandvoort aan Zee has a very central location. Do you also have information about sights and attractions in the surrounding areas, like the different cheese markets and the Keukenhof?
Answer:
The Zandvoort Tourist Information has brochures about many of the (larger) attractions and sights in the region. We even sell tickets for many of them, like the boat tours in Haarlem, the museums in Amsterdam, Madame Tussauds, and the Keukenhof. If you buy your tickets in advance, you don’t have to stand in line.
