National Park Zuid-Kennemerland

In the center of the most densely populated area of the Netherlands, between the towns of IJmuiden, Haarlem and Zandvoort, lies the beautiful national park Zuid-Kennemerland. This Nationaal Park-Zuid-Kennemerland is one of twenty national parks in the Netherlands. Entrance to the park is free, and there are several scenic bicycle paths.

Nature reserves

The Dutch society for the preservation of nature ‘Natuurmonumenten’ has been protecting the natural countryside in the Netherland for more than a century. They do this by buying up land, turning it into a nature reserve and maintaining it. Natuurmonumenten now manages more than 1000 square kilometers of beautiful nature.
